BIOHAZARD CLEANUP & DISINFECTION

Promax Services specialized biohazard cleanup and disinfection process thoroughly eliminate all potentially harmful biohazards and pathogens from affected areas to ensure your property is returned to a safe, livable condition.

Unlike a standard house or business cleaning, biohazard cleanup is a service that requires industry expertise, specialized equipment, and appropriate certifications. Improper cleanup can raise health and safety risks, and cause further damage. This is why Promax Services has developed a 3-step disinfection process backed by more than 20 years of research and experience. We thoroughly wash and disinfect all potentially harmful biohazards from affected areas to ensure our customers’ property is returned to a safe, livable condition.

WHY IS PROPER DISINFECTION SO IMPORTANT?

In cases of a death or accident where blood is present, there is a risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens (BBP) and biohazards ranging from viruses like Hepatitis to bacteria like MRSA. Statistics from the CDC show that 1 in 24 people have either Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or HIV. Because of these potential hazards, Promax Services has developed and refined a safety-focused, science-based remediation process that protects the health and well-being of our customers, employees, and affected properties. Our cleanup protocols follow BC’s Bloodborne Pathogen Standards, which include practicing universal precautions and equipping our teams with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). We also provide our customers with PPE if they need to access affected areas. Our goal is to minimize exposure risk for all parties involved.

Promax Services understands that the improper treatment of blood and bodily fluids can lead to further health and safety risks, including outbreaks, and structural damage to the property. When blood spills are simply spot cleaned and treated with a topical solution, the affected area has not been properly disinfected. At best, this cursory surface cleaning has merely suppressed the lingering bacteria; at worst, it may have missed entire sections where the blood or fluid has pooled underneath carpets or floors. This causes two issues: the likely return of unpleasant odors and the growth of additional bacterial colonies. The Promax Services remediation process mitigates these concerns. We verify our work using ATP tests, which measures cell activity, including bloodborne pathogens. Only when the test registers zero RLU (registered light units) are we satisfied with the level of clean. This test adds technology, measurability, and accountability to our biohazard remediation process.

WHAT IS REMEDIATION?

To many, biohazard remediation (and its commonly used alternative, crime scene cleanup) sounds like standard cleaning. In reality, the two services couldn’t be more different. Biohazard remediation refers to the removal, cleaning, and disinfection of blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially harmful pathogens in affected areas after a death, accident, or communicable disease outbreak. Because of the high exposure risk to bloodborne pathogens, biohazard remediation is a specialty service that requires proper training, equipment, certification, and licensing.

Promax Services has designed a 3-step remediation process and developed a line of cleaning agents to protect the health and safety of our customers and their property. For more than 20 years, we have adhered to the highest standards in biohazard remediation to ensure that our customers and employees are fully protected. We stand by our work with a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

THE PROMAX SERVICES REMEDIATION PROCESS

ASSESS

We complete an initial walk-through and BC-mandated employee-safety hazard assessment of the scene.

CONTROL AND SETUP

We use BC’s recommended cross-contamination protocol to control the affected area by securing and separating it from other parts of the structure.

REMOVE

We remove all visible traces of blood and biological materials from the affected area. This is the most dangerous step of the remediation process.

CLEAN, DISINFECT, AND DEODORIZE

After removal, we clean, disinfect, and deodorize affected surfaces using EPA-rated disinfectants.

VERIFY

Upon completion, we use adenosine triphosphate (ATP) testing technology to guarantee hospital-level standards of disinfection.
